hello, i dont post very much but i would like to know what you do with your hats when they are disgusting inside? mine get really sweaty after riding lots at work and it is horrible, Its fairly new so dont want to buy another, is there anything i can wash it with? thank you

I think you'll need to contact the manufacturers to ask them for advice.

(I do know that some people stick ladies panty-liners to the section where your forehead goes as they help to absorb the sweat and are easily replaced!)

I have a champion ventair and scrub mine with washing powder. It was so bad this last time I turned the flap out and dipped it in the sink, along with the harness. I didn't get the main structure of the hat wet tho.

It has come up great too

After all they don't tell us we need to get a new hat if it gets soaked in the rain or xc water anyway

I have some red rum deoderiser for my hat and boots (spotted it for 25p reduced!). Every now and then i give them a spray. Not sure, but i think a spray would work inbetween washes, to "freshen" it up.

Slightly different, but for the outside, for velvet hats they recomend steam cleaning. I leave some of my hat silks in the bathroom while i have a shower, and they do get cleaner.

I have started wearing a buff under my riding hat - it keeps that hat clean and I have two so one can be in the wash while I'm using the other. The problem I always found with cleaning the inside of the hat is that it takes so long to dry.

Be really careful about buying foam hat cleaner - made my eyes swell up was really painful for about a week!
