Hat with ventilation for the summer

So I am one of those people with a lot of hair so need a massive hat. I managed to get a Charles Owen Showjumper XP

However after the ride I take it off and I swear steam escapes from my head and it feels hot. I think I will be keeping it for winter riding instead

Does anyone have any ideas about which Charles Owens have good ventilation for summer riding?
 
My YO has an endurance riding hat. Don't know what make but it looks 'normal' and I was quite impressed when I saw it. I'm sure if you google endurance riding hats or something they will come up and it is comp legal.
 
Uvex hats are apparently fantastic for this. I've read on here that you can actually feel the wind in your hair as you're riding!
 
Ahem unfortunately Champion do not go big enough for my head capacity :o

I am a 64 cm in Charles Owen. Tried a Champion at 63 and it cut off my circulation. hehe :o
 
I have a champion ventair fixed peak and a charles owen skull cap (not sure of the actual name - its the one that just has holes in the side, not a vent strip like the Champion hat). Be warned - you may like a hat but it may not necessarily fit! I wanted a Champion skull cap, however, despite the fixed peak hat fitting, the skull cap would def not fit.

Charles Owen - tried one size that was too big, got another type in the same size as the one that did not fit and this one did!

Love my Charles Owen hat - I don't get hot from a lot of hair, I generally get very hot! Even in the winter when its minus a million degrees. The CO hat is so lightweight - plus has a really nice fit, just 'clunks' right down onto my head!
 
An extremely good hat, very light on the head, hardly know you're wearing a hat & very well ventilated, no bad hair days, are 'Kepp' hats. Unfortunately they are very expensive though so out of the price range of many people.
 
i have a gpa speed air for the summer but i don't know if they cater for the larger head ;) i find gpa have weird sizes! the two tone one didnt fit me at all but the tone on tone one fits fine :S
 
I have a champion vented hat. To be honest my head sweats just as much. I just end up with a slightly less sweaty strip down the middle. In fact, I think my head gets hotter around the sides now!
I'm going to go back to a Charles owen jockey skull when I can do.

Charles Owen is all I can wear since they are the only manufacturer that go up to my hair/head size :rolleyes:
