On Friday I posted for boots for a Donkey - you all said Premier Equine - ordered them and I am so impressed, they arrived yesterday courier service - for £3.50 postage.

Now they have come beautifully packed in bags, nice and flat - so I am really really going to show my ignorance and how long it is since I have put boots on a horse

Remember mine dishes so there is little chance of brushing!!

Firstly which are the front and back - I can't remember big on back or front!!!! (slinks down at desk) and then how do I mould them to her shape - just put them on? where should they sit?

I cannot believe I have just admitted to being so stupid!

the bigger of the pair go on the back and should sit just below the knee and hock, down to cover the fetlock. velcro or whatever straps should point to the rear of the horse.
hope this helps

I ordered loads of stuff off of premier equine the other day too and i was chuffed to bits with it all.

Agree with noblehouse about the fitting too

The bigger ones are usually for the hinds, straps always facing to the back

If they are double velcro then usually the first set of straps face the back so the ones you see (the top straps) face the front! You can tell by looking at the shape of the boote though!

In my opinion the boots in the picture of the H&H article (above) do not fit the horse and are not fitted correctly. Random but made me laugh!!

Thats OK, won't make any difference. It will be obvious when you look at them (and say on the packet) which ones are which- straps pointing to the back and on the ouside still applies. The front boots are more like tendon boots and the backs more like brushing. There might even be instructions on the packet.

I always used to get my Woof Boots mixed up, in the end I marked them inside

NF, NH etc

I hope the Donkey appreciates them and is suitably grateful.

Totally agree with you. I bought their huge Stormbuster rug for Jerry.

I was not only impressed with the how quickly they delivered, but the cost and the quality of the rug. The quality really is amazing. He has been snug as a bug in a rug! lol
