Scary experience today, I was out hacking with some other girls from my RS and we has a 9 year old with us who was on her 3/4 lesson, we had a great hack along the path into the forest, and we were coming up the last concrete/tarmac path to the stables when we decided to trot. The people who were walking with the little girl (g) prepared to trot by clipping on a leadrope and a leader either side of G holding onto her legs. We went into trot with G in front me second, as we went into a trot the pony G was on exploded, he did a massive buck sending one of the girls holding G's leg over, G came over his shoulder and hit the ground and the leader was litrally dragged over the ground. All this happened in about 5 seconds when G was on a ' bombproof' pony that I have ridden whilst carrying tarps ect.

G was lay on the floor curled in a ball, She was fine with just a cut knee to show but when the RI took off her hat and hat cover there was a crack running straight down the middle ! If G hadn't had on that hat the damage would off been to her head , remember always wear a hat .

Totally agree. People laugh at me as I am a natural worrier & love my health & safety! Hat, body protector & high vis at all times.

Too damn right, Ive had too many near missis not to wear a hat.
My friend was only leading her horse to the menage the other day when her horse spooked, pulled her over and trod on her, if she hadnt of had her hat on she'd prob be dead!!!!
