Hats that don't make you look like a "mushroom" head!!!

Hi

Just wondered if any of you had come across any smart hats that didn't make your heads look enormous??!
I look at my first riding hat (dropped too many times to ever be worn again!) and it looked so smart. Now I look like a womble!
Any suggestions?

No, but when you do find one let me know! My new Charles Owen looks ok, but still looks huge when on my head and I only take a 6 7/8.

my head is huge size 7 3/4! so I dont think I will ever find a hat that looks small

we call people in skull caps mushroom heads/egg heads on my yard lol

I have found the Showing Selection "Showstyle" hat to be less mushroomy than my Charles Owen H2000. This shows both of them.

GR8 has quite a low profile. It's by Charles Owen but doesnt come cheap. Also can get in all in navy which makes it look really nice

Thanks FMM the showstyle does look smart and doesn't seem too expensive either. The GR8 also seems nice, I agree with the expensive! Also there seems to be a trend with hats having strips down the middle. Can these be worn in all competitions or should they be kept for the showjumping?

Atleast the GR8 - you can choose what you want colour wise. The all black and all navy (so you dont notice the strip) look really nice

I've seen them used for dressage, but not showing

Depends if you want a hat for all round competition use or every day use.
I wear the ventair one for every day use - looks horrible, but really light and comfortable to wear. Not as pricey as the GR8 either!

I have the Charles Owen SJ and that is ok - sort of a good compromise. I hate mushroom hats and have just cleared out all my hats from last year as hated their shapes!

I hate the musroom hats as well. I find it so dodge to buy different makes on-line besides from my current one, always afraid it wont fit.

thats a really good point...my head looks massive when riding my horse too....and thats not through cockyness..!! Would be interested to see the answers as I would like a smart, smaller helmet too...
