Horse magazine wants to hear from riders who would like to have a free lesson with a top rider. Our next masterclass session is with show jumper Di Lampard, in association with Biotal (www.biotal.co.uk). We are looking for a rider who is able to travel to Di's yard in Rutland, Leics, on the 13th of July for a show jumping lesson, which will appear in a future issue of Horse. You must have your own horse and transport.

If you would like to be considered for this opportunity, or any other future lessons, please email victoria_gray@ipcmedia.com with details of:

Your name, age, where you live and your contact details
Your horse's name, age, height, colour and breeding
Your riding experience/preferred discipline
Any schooling/show jumping problems you have

*****************************************************

HORSE would also like to hear from:
* People who own and compete a stallion in any discipline
* Riders with strong views on the subject of getting the most from your riding lessons. Were you ever in the situation of paying for regular lessons but not getting anywhere? Have you finished lessons feeling over-criticised, uninspired or even bored? What makes a great instructor? Let us know
Email victoria_gray@ipcmedia.com and we'll get back in touch

* Don't miss HORSE magazine's special 10th birthday issue, which includes an amazing £12,000 of prizes up for grabs — on sale now

How about offering the odd lesson like this up in Scotland for once?! This is a pet hate of mine, horsey mags often offer a lesson as a prize but it always always says that we must travel to their yard to have it and since they're always in England, not much use for us up here!!

Huh? I cant see any competitions to win lessons with those 2 in Horse Magazine? And it's still not as good since those 2 (although great! Ive had Ernest and he's excellent) are not quite the same league as Di Lampard etc.

Would be nicer if they said in the competition that you didnt need to get to their yard, rather a date could be arranged between parties. These people travel about all the time (teaching etc.) so you'd think it would be easier to organise something for both sides.

Thanks to everyone who has applied so far — I'll get back to you all individually this week. Horse magazine has training features and masterclasses every month, so even if you don't get picked for the Di Lampard session, there will be others coming up, and we'll keep you on file for future consideration.

As I come from Scotland myself, I do appreciate it can be frustrating that many lessons tend to be more Southern-based. I'm happy to keep any riders on file in case of suitable Masterclasses happening in their areas; however it is quite a lot as it is to get riders, a trainer, their yard, a writer and a photographer all available in the right area on the same day — finding another yard as the location would be a further complication.

Re the Duncan Inglis lesson, we plan to use this in the near future — sorry for the delay. We'll keep you posted.

Thanks again

Victoria

We had one with Steven Smith which was great and our results have improved so much. Before our lesson i posted'Why can't we show jump anymore' because we were having problems.
Since lesson 2nd region final at Broadway/2nd Stoneleigh 2 day/2nd Great Tew.
THANK YOU HORSE MAGAZINE

Got my reply this morning, not in this time, but they are keeping my details for future articles, shame as would have loved a lesson with Di............

Thanks to everyone who applied — we got such a great response we were able to pick two riders within a few days of posting this.

But we'll have other masterclasses with top riders from various disciplines coming up in the next few months, so do keep applying, and we'll keep your details on file.
