I recieved a phone call of the Jane, the mum of the family who have Jasmine on loan, she was quite upset that I had not forwarned her about the owner coming to see Jasmine, but I had tried to ring YO who didn't answer my call and used all my credit doing that, OH was at the gym so couldn't use his phone and we are moving on fri so our phone has been disconected or something (OH deals with stuff like that)!
She sounded quite pissed off so I explained that I didn't really have time to think as it was such a random and unexpected phone call, all I could think was that if it was my horse I would want to know where she was! Sorted that out and I think she was more in shock as they have had Jasmine for 3 years and they have made her into a much nicer and happier pony. Rang YO/friend and she said that Jane was ready to let rip but managed to talk her round, i'm only 19 and didn't really think. I should of probably said i'd give Jane or YO a call and rang her back with there numbers or just passed the owners number onto them so they could call her.
More so I'm annoyed with Katie, we are friends now and she's on holiday at the moment so cannot speak to her. But i'm upset that she gave them my number when she knew where Jasmine was and only had to tell them the address. Now I have been dragged into it when I really don't see the pony that often anymore. I have also unitentionally upset Jane, which I didn't mean to do I just wasn't thinking

Easier said than done but try not to let it upset you too much.
Jane is probably scared the onwer will want her back or ask for purchase money!
Owner has every right to go and see the pony.
Surprised that Jane hasn't wondered about the owner- having had a pony 'Free' for three years!
There are no rights or wrongs- You have just been caught up in it all.
Jane took it out on you because things could change now which is not your fault- the owner would have got there in the end anyway!!

Mrs Mozart, Yes I think there will be an interesting conversation once Katie is back from holiday!

Thanks Canasta, the owner has a 6 year old daughter so I think she might want her back to for her daughter to ride, but i'm not sure now who to believe about this whole rescue situation. Not to judge a book by it's cover but the owner dosn't look very well off

She lives in the middle of a town aswell and Jane asked her if she had anywhere to keep the pony and she said no, and she still can't drive. I think money is also a valid option. Although the owner said she just wanted to make sure she was ok and know where she was why do it now? And why not just threaten legal action against Katie if she wouldn't tell you where you'r horse is?

Jane did wonder about the owner but Katie told them they were fine with it all. YO always said there was something missing in the whole situation though.

I hope it works out best for the pony!

Think you just got caught up in it all, and it's a case of "don't shoot the messenger!".

Don't let it upset you, the owner has a right to see her pony, and provided the pony is well cared for and looked after, then your friend should have nothing to worry about.

Thanks, thats a very good way of putting it! I like!

The pony is very well looked after, maybe not ridden enough but loved and petted lol! The young girls are at boarding school during the week so they can't ride but they try to at weekends. They also manage her laminitus very well. She was a right bag when she first came to the yard aswell, she kicked numerous people and horses, but now although she still has her nappy moments she gets on really well with all the other horses! I think they have just become quite attached and it's a bit of a shock to just have a note from the owner through there door!

Oh, poor you. You were caught off guard and did what any well meaning person would do. Why don't you ask Jane to read your original post or write her a letter explaining what happened. I have got myself into trouble several times when my intentions were only meant to do good. Is Katie a true friend? Doesn't sound like it to me. Its really upsetting but if you are normally a helpful caring person people around you will realise this and will understand your intentions. If they don't they are really not worth knowing. xxx

Thank you Archiesmummy

I did what I was thought was right at the time. The owner was going to get in touch one day sooner or later, I think whenever she did even if it didn't come from me initially it would be a shock to them. The owner is coming to see Jane on Thurs as they only spoke on the phone becuase she was out, so i'm sure i'll be informed from someone as to what is happening. I hope for them and Jasmines sake they do just want to make sure she is in a good home

I'd like to think i'm normally a caring and helpful person and YO owner has known me for over 5 years and understands the situation I was put it. Fingers crossed x

aww dont worry hun! you'll be fine, im sure things are just getting messed up, as you having actually spoke to jane personally and sure she wont be as mad as you think!
just apologize, im sure everything will be sorted
