Hello everyone,

Today this was the second time I found a beautiful Huski (the same one), Wednesday last week when running with my boy I found him wondering around aimlessly, luckily, he had a collar on with info, so I met the owner and gave him back. He said thank you and said I had been the only person able to catch him, to me he was very friendly and happily let me put his lead on.

I've seen this dog around my area being walked before, so I immediately recconised him. Today when running again, I saw the man and said hello, noticed he was trying to get the dog, then noticed he had no collar on, then saw him drive off, so i pressumed he got him.

About 20 minutes later, I saw stood with my other half while he hit golf balls and he noticed the dog, out of nowhere, running over to us. So I walked with the lead over to him and noticed that he really did have no collar on. It totally baffled me why you would walk a dog without one on. So i looped my lead around his head and waited for an hour, still no sign of the owner.

So I took him back to my mums and he's spent the afternoon here, very happily playing with my collie. Luckily we know a lady who breeds Huski's and has 3 of her own so we called her. She then told us that Huski's shouldn't be let off and they look for pray and don't come to call normally. She was also in total shock as she earlier in the week had seen the man and his other dogs with the Huski.

She's just taken him home with her dogs and is going to take him to the vets tomorrow. He was very touchy about being touched in some places, like he was in pain too.

Feeling very sad, as how could somebody just drive off and leave there dog in a feild, very close to a main road, with no collar on?!
Just hope I done the right thing bringing him back and giving him to somebody with experience with the breed.

Sorry for such a long post, Fox's biscuits on offer, YUM!

What an irresponsible owner to just drive off, was he trying to "teach the dog a lesson" or something equally stupid. Yes, you did absolutely the right thing, poor dog could so easily have been run over. Its great that someone who knows the breed is looking after him.

Well done you for taking him in and making sure he is safe:)

As for the owner I'm afraid it sounds to me like he was dumping him to get rid:mad: what a ******

I hope it is a happy outcome for the dog and he finds a proper home to look after him - it sounds like he is in knowlegable hands now thanks to you :)

Considering your next option would have been dog warden then yes your did the right thing, hopefully the lady will try and rehome him.
I bet the dick of a fella let him lose cos he was sick of not being able to let him off....the arse hole should have done his homework:rolleyes:

You definately did the right thing. Unfortunately it's all too common with huskies. Simple fact is that although they look nice they don't make good pets. They do however quickly become a way of life for some people....................!!!

Poor lad. It does sound very much like he's been dumped doesn't it? There is a huge welfare issue with the breed. There are a few dedicated rescue places, all of which have a waiting list :-(
