Now Easter is over, i'm starting to worry that I've missed the boat with regard to finding a loan horse for this year. Right or wrong, i have a little voice muttering in my brain that the majority of good horses are gone by Easter, and there won't be anything else around until people start heading off for uni towards the end of the summer.

I just cannot find anything ! All the loans advertised around here are either teeny ponies (admittedly cute, but i'm a bit big for 11.2s !), or serious competition prospects, or the owners are so swamped with calls that I don't stand out as anything special and they dont call me back !

Oh well, i shall continue with my regular round of the tack shop noticeboards, and my online trawl. I have told everyone I know that I'm looking for a loan horse, so I am sure something will turn up eventually.

Good luck! Something will show up, ask EVERYONE you know because i found all my loan ponies by going to people who thought they knew of horses that could need riding etc, and thats how i got them

My friends recently managed to do it the same way also. Where abouts are you? x

Tack shops. Riding Clubs. Local papers (amazed a what gets advertised in those!). Word of mouth. Pony Club.

There will be neds out there because the reasons for loans come up all the time.

I have a 16hh TB for loan and can't find any1 suitable for him lol and he is well behaved so they are some out there lol

Place an ad on Horsemart, that is how I got Hattie. She hadn't even been advertised and her owner was looking around the loan wanted ads to see if there was anyone suitable before she paid out and advertised her and saw my wanted ad!

It was WELL WORTH the money I paid as I recieved loads of responses from people and still receive the odd email even though my ad hasn't been running since December!

Where is the OP, you hasn't told us where you are? I've got a lovely sensible barefoot dressage/hacker in Kent. Why would you think they are all gone by Easter, I don't get the logic of that at all?
