Yes! It deosnt hack in company- therefor imo, its a project in need of work and a 13yo shouldnt be a project in need of work. I personally wouldnt pay more than £1000 for it but if i was selling it id advertise at £1500.
i was thinking , yeah thats all fine for the price until i got to 'sensitive & needs a confident rider' i think that will shave a lump off of the price as he was sounding like a nice fun novice ride which would be worth £3k until that , so maybe thats what is puttig that type of rider off?
I'm not sure many things are selling at the moment to be honest.
I don't think he is over priced either, is he registered?? if so make a bigger thing of that and just hang in there, what does he do when hacked alone?? Section D's often need an experienced handler/rider and take abit of getting used to so people looking for a D should be aware of that.
Good luck with the sale. I'vew just sold one, one more to go it is very hard work out there at the minute.
Thanks everyone for your comments and advice. He is registered and is great in company when hacking - never bolts, not worried by lorries, tractors, cars, dogs etc but that scarey flower is definately going to jump out and bite his bum! lol He doesn't do anything silly just looks and snorts and tries to give it a wide birth! I have a picture of him competing at dressage and one of him xcountry on the advert and if I can work out how to upload them I will to get your opinion! Just had a flatwork lesson on him and my instructor thinks he is worth far more for his dressage alone. But of course he is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for him. I won't sell him to just anyone the home is very important to me and he is a typical sec D sensitive soul who does need someone to understand him (thanks for your comments Josie). I thought the comment about 'who would by this horse' was very useful and made me stop and think about who I am aiming at. Maybe I will suspend the advert and give it some more thought about marketing him. Thanks again everyone!
My friend has just bought a 16 year old Sec D from the East Midlands for £3000, just a safe hack but has done some jumping ( but she won't be doing any on him)
I just bought a 16year old TB x from the West Midlands ( took 3 hours to get there!) for £1500, he's 100% in every way, has an amazing jump and is a fantastic hack.
I personally wouldn't pay £3000 for a horse, but then again I don't compete, just do a bit of everything
Personally now you described what he actually does I think it changes things well it would for me.I would class myself as novice(right or wrong) but I could cope with that sort of spooks,!.Thats actually exactly what my welsh cob does
will practically go sideways up banks to avoid things. Its the sort of spooks that spin and bolt or try and get you off etc that freak me.
Anyway think what I am trying to say is people who class themselves as novice may give ad a wide berth as needs confident rider/not novice ride makes me think it would be much worse.
