i've just had to raise my livery charge and the owner has had a right paddy and is leaving...i charge £80 a week all in and i mean all..hard feed hayladge shavings indoor school all year turn out getting in and out ridden 3-4 times a week and schooled not just hacked...trimmed bathed tacked cleaned the LOT and i feel i do it really well don't cut corners at all...is this really to much we are in the south west.. the only extra is clipping and wormers

thats really cheap!! she may be leaving but im pretty sure she wont find anywhere else cheaper. Im Bucks and that would be at least 120 round here

What - well here it is £95 per week full livery and you certainly wouldn't have your horse ridden or tack cleaned!!! Tell her to shop about and I'm sure she'll come back with her tail between her bloomin legs!!

That is very cheap!!
I'm going to be paying £84 for nothing near of what your liverys giving!! I'd say she'll be running back to you!

That is cheap, and this person must know that really, they may be taking the mick! Let them go and get yourself a good livery

i'm really cross i've gone out of my way for months for them and was only charging £70...they would just turn up expect animal tacked up and ready or if i was'nt there they would go and get it in leaving gates open fences down and a whole mess to sort out later in the day...sorry having a bit of a rant...they said they are moving in january but i feel i want to tell them they have 28 days notice period which is boxing day!!!

I would chase her and say good riddance - sounds like somebody has just got a bit complacent and used to some home comforts - expecting a private groom! New clients will be queuing up. I prob would say if she could move by the end of December.

the joke is i gave the same raise to my other lady and they insisted that was still to cheap and have offered me £10 more on that as well...

your better off without her. You do far too much for that price and will get much better people. Just difficult I know to lose the wage. Hugs and get advertising now

Tell her she has her 28days but you will give her until 30th December

Give the ungrateful cow notice and get rid as soon as. That is fantastic value for money. Find somone who will appreciate the great service you are offering and great value

Full Livery at my yard (an extra service if you are on hols etc) is £105 p/w, not including any food, hay or shavings and I think thats good value!!

Really? You couldn't even get that round here! Not including the riding and trimming. Full livery at a bigger yard costs around £100 a week and thats for pretty poor facilities (south of Edinburgh, not Aberdeen which is better). And usually doesn't include hard feed either.

i'm so glad to hear this from everyone i almost said ok i wont put it up i do do it because i love working with the horses but also to pay to keep my kids competion ponies and some times it feels if i'm doing theres for free...i did ask on the forum about costs and felt i was indeed very cheap so put it up a little but good what a reaction..they tell me they have found somewhere who can take her in january...so i'm just meant to smile look after her all over x-mas and new year while they go away sking to move her when they get back...and i suppose i'll be expected to help with that arrg!!!

God girl tell her to gtf, find a livery that will be more apprecative!! No need for that sort of childish games, tell her you have loads of people wanting in so the space will be filled and she must be out in 28 days!!! quite within your rights!

Give her the 28 days notice and put your charges up to £100pw minimum you will fill her box in no time.

Completely agree. I think you do too much, and get little credit - so for your satisfaction give her the boot!!

Way way too cheap for what you are offering. I bet they won't get that sort of service at new place, regardless of the money. Who is she anyway, lady muck? expecting to have their horse tacked up and waiting indeed! That's like something from another era.

No way Baily...that is such good value (& you are selling yourself short!!) I'd be tempted to tell them to b*gger off now. Just ask this person if they go to work for free. I hope you get a lovely new person to replace this ungrateful client. Good luck. Sxx
