Have to admit this youtube clip made me smile ...

We have a grey sec A just like that, but he's now firmly a lead rein pony, having totally shattered eldest son's confidence. That kid has got guts, bet he's a famous rider one day!!! As a parent, I'm not sure I could have watched him come off that many times and laughed about it.

Just watched this and also Ed being good too... that kid is going to be a star if he sticks at it... his legs never move and he's got a great seat... if he gets the right opportunities he's going to the olympics!!

Blitz

what an amazing combination! love the pony; what a dude, and the riders fab - very gutsy and got a natural seat. i think youd want it trying to stay on that pony! :p

Cracking little rider for 6 years old. We've still got my daughter's pony who was really quite naughtly when she came off the lead rein but she persevered and overcame it and excelled at county level showing with him. He taught her so much, going on to driving when she grew too big. He's still got his character and is now happily retired in the field.

 Poor child! LOL, I laughed at some bits when I probably shouldn't have, like when the pont just decided to roll!

The part when he gets dragged off though hanging off with his foot caught in the stirrup was worrying! Brave child and he kept smiling bless him. Ponies can be such little sods :D

I love that pony haha and that kid is a cracking rider for just getting back on and carrying on and i personally think its the best way to learn lol i havent laughed that hard for a while haha

It's only by riding ponies like this that the truely good riders emerge. And what good hands he has - doesn't get annoyed with his pony and never once uses his whip. I hope he continues riding because he is a superstar of the future. He obviously cares for the pony, hasn't got the concept of inflicting pain or cruelty and in the end gets his rewards. Well done Ross!

OK the first part of that clip had me laughing my socks off, even had tears in my eyes when he went down to get rider off!!! But as it went on I started to question it as a parent. All I can say is that rider is ace, what guts, I just hope this collection of naughty bits really only happens occassionally, having been there and done it with a horse that did these things daily, your confidence can only take so much. It's nice to see the good clip though, hope there are alot more of these times than the naughty ones....

Think the child didnt have much of a hold of the pony and maybe the pony needs a few schooling lessons. Glad nowone was hurt. Was funny when he rolled ober.

But thats how kids develop into great riders... hes obviously loving it, so why not?!

...until they break their necks. A friend had a 'naughty horse' and he broke his neck from a fall when it bucked, and he is now paralysed from the neck down for life. All he can look forward to is life in a hospice as his wife had a breakdown from it. Sure, we can learn to take falls and get back on again, but to blatantly allow our kids to be in danger over and over again? Not in my book. Sorry, his parents need a bit of a wake-up call. Their son is NOT indestructable.

A couple of wee bucks, fine. A bit of bombing off, so long as not bolting, fine.

That first vid was too much. No idea whether it was a pain response from the pony. The rearing and bucking by the fence, bad. The being dragged, horrendous.

I'm all for my children doing as much as they are able to do, and I've watched both my daughters being bombed off with and being dumped. We took appropriate action to make sure the ponies learnt it wasn't acceptable.

The second vid, nice. Child was having fun, learning to be a good rider, pony looked comfortable. I only watched the start so don't know if things went bad.

Each to their own.

A future star that kid :). Ponies like that teach you so much.

Love this quote from the video description they wrote,

'while he was bucking ross would say look nan im like a cowboy lol',

that brilliant fun loving attitude will get him far. Just hope he stays safe until then.

What a great rider that kid is, gutsy and with a great attitude. he never once lost his temper with the pony, and I have never seen a six year old with such good control over his hands, probably because he has a superb seat. If he sticks with it he will be famous one day!

The video made me smile, especially when the little sod rolled to get the child off, but was not too keen on the part when the kiddie got dragged:eek:

I know it's wrong but I was actually crying with laughter :o

Great little kid tho. I grew up with no money and no pony of my own but got to ride all the naughty ponies no-one else wanted to. Made me the rider I am today.
I remember a little pony who used to roll when he wanted riders off. Little monkey!
