have to go back to work 6 days a week how do you juggle horses dog and family

Needs must and I have to start work ,at least I might be able to keep my horse.
Mostly been lady of leisure so not complaining just wonder how Im going to juggle riding horse in winter walking the dog and family commitments .The 6 days a week are til Xmas then 4 days and mostly 5 hr days but oh works eve so no family life:(
Suppose it might shift the half stone that I never lose ill be to exhausted to eat lol:D
 
You need a routine!! I work 6 days and I have a strict rota, I make feeds the night before for the morning, get hay ready etc so all I have to do in the morning is grab everything and go. I poo pick by head torch, would rather ride in the morning and make use of the light, it also helps that we have a floodlit school, although does get boring!!

People think I am a mug, but I wasn't born into money so to keep my horses I have to work!!
 
We own pub so dog will go to work with my husband and he will walk him mornings (that will be shock to system lol)
I really dont want sharer as she is very much a one person horse she had multiple homes in two years , 5 at least and it messed her up .Im not willing to put her through that she has made so much progress this last three years.Think I will hire indoor sj arena for flat work once week to keep up with our lessons, can sj night times once fortnight and will try hacking out early mornings and muck out evenings.My instructor has offered to ride her once week if I cant manage and she is fantastic rider who I really trust.
Our floodlights havent been finished and school is due to be replaced next year.
I dont suppose it will hurt her to have some days off she normally gets ridden 6 days a week.
 
try to find a routine to suit you. i also find that allocating jobs into daylight hours and electric light hours works well. you ideally want to ride in daylight, but can do feeds, haynets, muckout with electric light. you can do housework, shopping, paperwork with electric light. outdoor jobs like gardening,tidying, pooh picking need to be done in daylight. but at the end of the day only you know your own committments/jobs to be done etc, so really need to find your own routine, and manage your time effectively. Im sure Ill manage .I have hay bar which saves time and already make up feeds in bulk .I also help friend monday and friday so Im sure that she will do same for me.

I also have a strict routine,as have a professional job as a Nurse with lots of responsibilities,including managing other staff.I get the hay and feed ready the night before,and take the dogs to the yard as dogs are allowed.I do the poo picking after work too,as i hate leaving it in the paddock for even one day.I have to travel about 5 miles to the yard and back again to get ready for work.This does mean an early start.We have three horses,but i have got a routine which takes about one hour,including changing rugs and turn out in addition to mucking out,doing the water and hay nets,then cleaning all the feed buckets.Roll on spring when they are turned out 24/7.
