I have my mare up for full loan shes lovely 16 years old but no longer likes scholling etc so i advertised her for hacking only!! shes had enough of competition work now.

How many emails have i had asking if she jumps? or i am looking for a horse to do local shows on ? grrr what don't people understand about hacking only? even got one asking if she will hunt!!!

I give up...lol

some people are stupid if they are that silly they obviously dont undersatnd that your horse is 16 so dont loan her to them

I know how you feel. People don't seem to understand that is is 'loan' horse, not a £10,000 competition horse that is free. I tried to loan my horse out at one point and lots of people are not interested (despite being 100% to hack) unless he was capable of going around Badminton or something!
Everyone wants something for nothing!

She won't be going anywhere thats not suitable we love her too much for that i thought i would put her on loan as shes not doing anything and she loves to hack! i have other horses that i ride so shes just a lawnmower at the moment...:)

i Thought i will find her a nice loving home..but its so hard anyway she will stay with me if not.

Devils advocate - do they mean could she jump, i.e. pop a log WHILST hacking?

Probably just stupid though ;)

Just to play Devil’s Advocate, if she doesn’t want to school, why would it be silly to ask if she could hunt? They’re poles apart and it’s nothing like competing. Most horses love hunting and you don’t necessarily have to jump, although again, if you do jump it’s totally different to jumping in a ring, so maybe they think that she would enjoy being hacked and the odd hunt.

Ha we had this when we sold my old show hunter pony, very detailed advert , very clear that he was arab/tb/welsh, well mannered but not a novice ride, as he had a very highly tuned flight response, and that he had shown at county, bit of jumping etc. One woman asked if he would do games (suggested that she could try waving a flag at it if she never wanted to see her daughter again.) Another asked me what he was like with small model railways and fishing umbrellas.....? One stupid woman actually came to try him, thought this could be promising was an adult rider and seemed knowledgeable on the phone, got on him in the school fine in walk pushed horse into trot he was going rode nice and sensible in a good forward trot in correct outline, next minute she's done a Frankie Detori and slung herself on the floor. Poor horse was terrified ! Stood up and said he was too forward going for her ..........................? I give up!!
