I've only had my share horse on full loan for about 6 weeks but I'm already going to have to find a sharer and start sharing him again
He is kept 24 miles away from where I live, which wasn't too bad when I was sharing him as i only had to do the journey 3-4 times a week. When his owner asked me to have him on full loan I jumped at the chance as I love him so much, I thought I could handle the distance 7 days a week as he is only kept 5 miles from where I work.
But I am finding it hard, going through so much petrol and the journey there and back is time consuming and tiring and during the week if I ride I'm not getting home until 8.30 and i'm up again at 6 to go turn him out etc before work.
I talked to his owner the other day and asked if I could move him to a yard nearer me, one that two of my friends are on, it's only 10 minutes away and would make my life and having him soooooo much easier, but she said no that she couldn't bear to part with him and not see him everyday etc. So I said i'd have to get a sharer then.
So my instructor gave this lady my number who is looking for a horse for her and her daughter. They're coming to see him on Friday. She sounds really nice and i'm sure they're lovely but i don't WANT to share him
I want to move him closer to me
I'm also a bit worried as the daughter is 11 and isn't that the sort of age that they love tearing around jumping everything in sight? Or am i just being really paranoid?!
I'm just worried he'll get broken or something, although I am going to insist they take out insurance. Meh, I know I should be happy to have found someone and hopefully get help time wise and financially which will be nice, I just wish it didnt have to come to this.
