A few years ago I got a call from my windowcleaner asking if I would be home soon.
why? sez me.
Well, me and and my mate are stuck up a ladder in your back garden sez he.
Luckily I was only 20 minutes away so dashed home. They had been warned more than once that there was a dogflap so not to try to do the back of the house if I wasn't in
When I got in, silly terrier was fast asleep in her bed, old terrier was making brave attempts to climb the ladder (they were splashing water on her to try and stop her!) and the rott was guarding the back gate looking very pleased with himself.
Once I'd removed the dogs
I asked them what the hell they'd thought they were doing going over a locked gate when they knew the dogs were there....apparently when they'd done the dining room windows all 3 dogs had been on the sofa asleep so they decided that it would be a good idea to do the back as it hadn't been done in months because of me being out every time they visited. Soooooo, they used the ladder to get over the 6ft locked gate and my sods of dogs let them and only shot out once one of them was up the ladder (so ignored them while they did the downstairs) and his mate who was footing the ladder had to join him up the ladder)
It was the old terrier who wanted to rip them asunder, the rott was just determined that they weren't leaving until I got home. Very funny at the time - well, I thought so
