Have you ever "borrowed" road signs from road works?
I think they would make excellent skinnies...

We did and then were told it was illegal and it got taken away hehe Ive got my eye one on the side of my field at the moment go for it :P

*cough* I'm a student.......

as such, my garden last year is full of the damn things...and my ex OH's workshop is full too....

Used to have some cones - quite fancy helping myself to some of those road works barriers or the blocks some times though - they come in some great colours too.....!

I have thought they would be useful, but I have never taken any as it is theft, and I am no thief.

Best story was my housemate and her friend were drunkenly stumbling down park street and saw a funny road sign and quickly half inched it got three paces down the road and hear "Ladies.... put the sign down." It was a policeman! lmao! Luckilly he had a sence of humour and let them go when they put it back!

I've got quite a few cones and we did have a sign but got made to return it in the morning. I do however have one of those flashy lights that go on top of the cones, not very useful but quite a good "find"

Those big blocks that come in red and white that can be filled with water make great skinnies, "cough" well I am sure they would if you "happened" upon them adandoned at the side of the road

they are always abandoned!!! the worst thing i did was pull up cats eyes from the middle of the road - god knows why though, how useless!!

Again being a student my hallway and garden is littered with things like this (I blame the boys...) - the most recent edition being traffic cones that are about 5' tall (I'm thinking of sneaking those to the stables as bending poles for the kids!). The plastic barrier things that hook on the cones and go round roadworks make good jumping planks

We have rehomed several cones which have been abandoned after roadworks have been completed but nobody seems to leave signs to be 'rescued' near us. Would be useful to teach spooky hackers that they're nothing to worry about (well not while they're at home anyway)

i've never 'borrowed' any...but i HAVE stolen some!!

there are some big yellow barriers near me actually that have blatantly been abandoned so i might go and rehome them this weekend!

We've rescued plastic cones and tyres from the ditch - we're on the edge of suburbia the wrong side of town for the tip, so get all sorts of garden rubbish, building rubbish, tyres and cones dumped in the ditches . Old plastic guttering make good poles.

Well when I moved in to my new house my garage happend to have 6 of the red and white barrier things,
and possession is 9/10th of the law isnt it????

when I was a kid i used to see lonely cones on the roadside and just felt so sorry for them I had to take them home,

I have even considered puting a hi viz vest on my OH and sending him out in my landy to do some road work clearing !!!!!!

Oh yeah really sad I am the red and white barriers are made by oxford plastics they have thier own website and was going to ring them to see if I could buy some off them

Not directly, but our old yard had dozens of cones about, I never asked how they got there.

It is illegal here to do that. So I keep the Rail crossing, Stop and the 5' x 2' Mount Vernon township sign that was in one of my barns hidden, shame that, it would make a great jump filler! Suspect that the previous owners were kleptomaniacs.

I've even bought some road workings bits. Bit of a pain as the are 1'6" or 3'6" which is abit of a difference but they are great, useful and very cheap. Some of our cones we bought, and some are collected from hedge rows when they fall off builders trucks

:embarassed:

we've got some of those red and white barriers, the workmen kindly left them behind (what lovely electric people) they were sent a very nice thank you letter.............

No because a. it is theft, b. it is potentially dangerous - they are put on the road for a reason, and c. it is stupid and childish.
