As everyone knows, I am currently on a horse hunt - am in no rush, I know what I want, what my dream list consists of and what I will be happy with!

Guess what my stableyard friend arrives with yesterday - her new purchase - something I didnt even believe existed - a dun (have always wanted a dun), 16-2hh, short coupled, Conny x ID perfect specimin of a horse called Mustard (awwww) 6 years old, gentle as anything, snaffle mouthed, great little hunter, looks like he will be a useful jumper - I coo'ed like a mother does to her newborn!

Then today Mustard just grinded in that knife - called to me when I went on the yard, watched my every move, did all that playful headtossing everytme I looked in his direction *sigh*

I AM IN LOVE WITH SOMEONE ELSES HORSE!!! Worst thing is, he came from the dealer who was adjoined to my old yard and someone I have been meaning to go see - ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

I wish the new owner all the best and luck in the world wth Mustard, but by heck I wish he was mine

Lol!! As difficult as it is.... if it was meant to be.....

I think it probably feels like that thoigh because you are actively looking for your perfect horse, and she has found hers. May just be envy of other persons situation deep down? It will go when you find your amazing new steed!

Also have equine envy for scrooges horse in pic-think he looks lovely!!! My first pony was coloured and i have always wanted another except now it needs to be a 16.2 sport horse!

Ahhh, god he sounds amazing!! Are you chummy with the owner by any chance?

Am in LOVE with this little gem at the yard....around 14hh, thinks nothing of a 3'3 course, chestnut with short flaxen mane....was spending some time with him, scratching him, working my way reeeally slowly up his head (He is a little headshy!) and eventully got to his ears...his groom came in and was shocked, and said no one has ever got that far up his neck before, bless!! He was shnozzling ALL over me, amd totally in love with him haha!!! My hands were sooo dusty after I finished tho, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I shall get some pics and ask the owner if I may post them - honestly he is a dude! And soooooooo pretty!

As for envy that she has found hers - nope, greys I love, but second to dun - only you seldom find a big dun

Ah well, she will let me ride him I am sure AND I get to coo over him daily
laugh.gif

Yep I know exactly what you mean. As kids we had naughty ponies that we would *learn to ride* and as the kids of v. knowledgable mum had to troll round looking at Rolls Royce ponies for members of our PC whose parents could afford them, even if kids couldnt ride a leg of them!

Gosh think I will go and get some therapy now!

One day I'd love to own another dun. Never seen one as nice a colour as Bailey yet though. Some seem to be more of a "sooty" dun. He was seriously sexy.

I have a friend who bought a horse that she's scared of (called Bailey too - but a bay) and I am soooooooo into the idea of buying him. 10 year old 16.1 tbx. He's lovely. However, she wants £1500 more than she paid for him a couple of months back and he's already learned how to make someone get off in fear.

Shame. Feel sorry for his current owner. Had a bad deal with horse before him and it's knocked her confidence for six. Bless her.

Working for an international show jumper for 6 weeks..............I had equine envy ALL THE TIME! Every horse there I've drooled over, how can you not, they're all fantastic
laugh.gif

Aww he sounds gorgeous!
Everyone on our yard is in love with the YO's posh dressage horse, he is the most fantastic creature to walk this earth... if I would have got him he would have been a bit wasted with me as he has SO much talent, but he can go from medium dressage horse, to PN eventer, to 4' SJer, and right back down to proper beginner's RS horse in 5 minutes! Plus, he is GORGE!
Just think though Weezy, now you know your perfect horse does exist, and it is possible to find him... you just need to hope that Mustard was a twin!
Good luck!

Aw, he sounds Gorgeous! but you WILL find your perfect pony!
i cant say that i have ever suffered TRUE equine envy, i have when looking at a horse, but as soon as i get on it, i realise that it is nowhere near as much fun as my own and lose interest
blush.gif
- i guess ive just found my perfect type! Although some horses i sit on go much better than she does, i tend to find them somewhat mechanical - something i could never describe beastie as

Mustard! What a great name. I look forwards to seeing him if his owner will let you post the photos.

My envy was a Psynergy colt (arab, so no fighting for him from you lot!

) I saw at an Open Day in the summer, later heard he'd been sold for something like 35K

You like greys? Seriously???

Always been partial to bays myself. Especially ones with really floaty trots.

Yeah, astonishing isnt it

Now if someone would introduce me to a bay with a really floaty trot, I may be swayed

Especially one with a blaze, tho the darker the bay the better - brown is better I think!

Well I hope to see the one by Gatwick next week (think you know which one I mean), have called Phil Tuckwell about the grey hunter in H&H today, other than that, nope, will bide my time and let something grab me - have Boss anyway so its not as tho I am desperate which is a GOOD thing knowing how I am !

well generally I feel lucky every day to have my boy but there is this one horse who is always in my classes when I compete at Patchetts and the last three elementaries I have done I have got good marks (really want to qualify for regionals) and this blinking horse goes and gets 72% twice and 74% once so therefore putting me into second place...grrr! The horse is gorgeous and moves a dream...I do wonder why she is still doing elementary though with marks like that...I have to admitt I am a wee bit jealous!

All the time. I'm desperate for a horse of my own but can't see myself being in the position to have one for the forseeable future. I'm even jealous of my riding school for having such nice horses

Louise, I have no sympathy for you, LOL!! I did offer you my guy before I left England
