Today I attempted to lick a respiratory horselyx (menthol/eucalyptus/aniseed) - YUK!!! Was coughing for ages after ;-) it was purely in the interest of science you understand :-))

However Allen + Pages fast fibre is yummy - like chocolate porridge

So what if anything have you tried?

used to pop in the odd bit of flaked maize (in the old days when it was brought by the bag!).
Flaked barely was ok for a chew on occasions...... I was 17/18 then :p
Boiled barley, whilst looking horrid used to be okay by teaspoonful on a freezing day as it was warm (okay, I was on a BHS exam yard doing my AI training at the time :o )
Boiled linseed - for a dare, at same yard as above :D - cant remember the taste tho & am not willing to try again now :p

Also tried supersolvitax - I DO remember that - I liked it :D
Red cell, not so nice, but palatable......

Tried (Spillers)pony nuts as a child (not nice as tasted like cardboard as I remember  )

Gawd, the things I used to chomp on when I was younger! :D

When me and my friends were little we used to eat Likits! The apple was very nice. If I ever buy one now I'll always have a taste before I give it to the pony brings back so many memories. :p

I love likits :o Apple and Cherry are amazing. :D

I always used to nibble at the coarse mix as well :o Although I have also tried Schmakos, the dog treat so horse feed is an improvement. ;)

ive tried most flavours of likits and also speedi beet chaff and apple chaff
likits are amazing and all the other kids at my yard(theres about 4 of us)we all sit in the stables eating the horses ones there amazing speedi beet and chaff is disgusting but apple chaff tastes like cider lol

i have tried,

alfa a - yuk
sugar beet - double yuk!!!
ap old faithfuls - very nice possible cos its so sweet
likits - yum

can't think of anything else at the moment

I used to enjoy a massive handful of barley whilst making up the feeds at a riding school when I was younger :D

Mollichop chaff is rank, as is sugar beet! Yes tried anything me :D

Rabbit food is nice though :D

ETA! Just remembered I used to LOVE those horse treats that were green cubes and came in a red bag. They were nice :D

Arent we all mad!!!
I lOVE Lickits!! apple is a deffo fave, my horse noes when i have one i stand there eating it before she gets it!!
have tried molychop, sugarbeet allsorts... not found anything i particually like as all a bit bland compared to a choccy bar! which my horse also prefers :P

My younger cousin eats anything, she's 13!
I'll take her up to see the horses an feed them, and she's in there eating my mares maise and rolled peas, millochop chaff! She'll even eat my boy's sugar beet!

Something wrong with that girl I swear...

Although I do like a mint or apple likit :D :D

I've tried all horse foods I think before giving it to my neds I like to know what it tastes like! The chaffs are never terribly tasty although I quite liked Applechaff as its quite sweet. The mixes are nicest, especially the squashed barley which normally have a layer of mollasses over them but I only buy cubes nowadays which taste horrid. Likits are nice. Salt licks are not (and can anyone else taste any flavour in the flavoured ones because I cant!)! It was a friend during my school years that got me into it, if we'd slept over at the other ones house we'd go feed the ponies in the morning in our PJ's and nibble on their feed...!

Reminds me of a snobby, know it all horsewoman at work who doesn't even ride, she lives through her grownup daughter. Mucks out her horses, requests days off work to drive to shows etc

We were talking about horse feed.

Me: 'Oh I just use apple chop. Token feeding and all that'
Woman: 'That tastes horrible, you know'
Me: 'Does it?!'
Woman: 'Don't you taste your horses feed first? Goodness, I simply have to make sure they are eating nice feed!'
Me: '.............................!'

I am partial to sharing Likit bars with the horses though. Not good considering I'm diabetic and they are 100% sugar :D
