Have you ever won anything by entering magazine competitions?

Last year was my lucky year - I won tickets to Hickstead from Nag Mag, and apparently a Ragfork also from Nag Mag - but it never came, and tbh I never followed it up as we didn't have any ragwort, however could have done with it this year to do our neighbour's field, which was riddled with it.
 
I won just tog clothes about 12 years ago from pony magazine!

some brown mountain horse yard boots from Your Horse but when they came they didn't fit me in any shape or form so I sold them
 
I won members tickets to Hickstead in our local paper. I enter lots of competitions in magazines (usually unsuccessfully) but horse wise have only won once - some stable equipment from Local Rider which was very useful.

Ages ago I had a parcel delivered which contained a Jurassic Park tshirt, naturally my son was delighted but I couldn't remember which comp I had entered to win it and there was absolutely nothing in or on the parcel to say where it had come from.

I do best with our local radio station, this year I have won a car valet, £60 of shopping vouchers, a box of hair care products and about £3k of home improvement vouchers, but still waiting for them to arrive!
 
There was a competition in magazine and online to be the Face of Dublin model - I voted for the girl I liked best and a few months later got a lovely red riding jacket in the mail :D Apparantly by voting I had entered a competition!
 
I've won a 15KG garlic horselyx, set of grooming products from Mark Todd as he answered a question I asked and a sack of Blue Chip original for having the star letter once

It made em lol too when the massive box arrived - there was way more than a years worth. Probably about 100 boxes!

Forgot to say I have the hormone coil fitted so had no use for them :( I kept a few boxes for the horses (make great wound packs) and gave the rest to my little sis - I think as a student she appreciated them lol
 
Yes, two years ago I entered a comp in the Sunday Times and won an £8000 bathroom.
Fuelled by that I entered a few more comps and won a horse turnout rug and tickets for a Burghley course walk which I autioned off for charity .
The trick is to enter plenty if you want to win, there are specific websites such as loquax that tell you every comp going and it's closing date.
 
Spooky - I saw this thread yesterday and thought I'd read it later on out of curiosity. Got home to find a big parcel waiting in the porch from Signam Sportsmark, a set of dressage markers I'd won from a Horse & Rider magazine competition! Ace!
 
Years ago I won a pallet of hemp bedding (think it was Your Horse magazine) - great you might think (won't mention the name). My stallion got high on it after eating it - heyyyy mannn! And the rats loved it - they made tunnels in the bags!!!! So I advertised it and some poor lady came along and bought the rest off me! Never used them since. :D
 
Yes, I won a Rambo fly rug once.

And most recently I 'won' a full set of Kentucky WEG reining tickets; technically I didn't win straight off, but the original prize winner unfortunately wasn't able to go so the prize was re-drawn and I was 2nd time lucky - and therefore very very lucky indeed, it was awesome!
 
From Your Horse magazine I've won a BE Day ticket- the day before Ludo went in for an operation and was out of action for 6 months. Never did get to use it even though they said I could use it the following Year.

A Private Lesson with Chris Bartle at Your Horse Live in 2007. An excellent prize and lesson and it's all on the Your Horse website so I can watch it again when I like.

More recently apparently I won a litre of Immunal supplement again from Your Horse. However, having contacted the supplier who rang me to tell me I'd won, the prize hasn't turned up. *Note to self to contact Your Horse and tell them!*
