Afraid I cheated here coz a few years ago I had my bl**dy car stolen off my bl**dy drive at about 10pm. Cocky little b*st*rds. I used to use it to drive it to see to my neds and carry hay, feed, shavings etc so I hope it counts! Still makes me mad today!

Oh my! Car! Thats awful! But i guess it counts...if you have your car stolen and you use a trailer thats a good as getting your trailer stolen...! (Not as good as like in a "good" way but as bad as because you cant use it...but you know what i mean!)

JM07 - why not! oh and i love your sig quote...brilliant!

When I brought a horse about 9 years ago she came with all tack except a saddle as the yard had been broken into and everything stolen, whilst my mare was pregnant so was unable to have a new saddle fitted.

They took everything apparently

My friends son came home one night, to find her lorry coming down the drive a man jumped out & ran across the ploughed field next door. John put the lorry back, didn't think any more of it, went to bed. My friend came home later, she works in a pub, went to check the horses & found her advanced dressage horse, missing, He was in the back of the lorry!

My other friend had a HB10 trailer for Christmas a few years back 2 weeks later it was stolen. Poor girl never had much luck!

My work experience RS had their tackroom cleaned out down to the last stirrup, and it all came up for sale at a nearby auction months later. RS I now go to had their tack cleaned out less than a year ago. The door is heavyweight steel, fifty million bolts poking out of every edge when the lock is engaged, alarmed should anyone manage to force it open, CCTV pointing right at it, window has grills, roof decked with razor-wire... the sh*ts hacked their way in through the back wall, which is that 1.5" thick stone/concrete material garages are built out of

. The tack is security-marked so the RSO is hoping to catch it when it resurfaces at a public sale. I have an awful feeling that with eBay, that's not going to happen. Anyway, they've since had the insides plated with metal all-round. Anyone who can get in there now deserves £5k of tack as a prize!

I haven't but my old barn in Oxfordshire, held many shows, there was always people snooping about the tack rooms, people were always complaining about stuff had just disappeared. Even with a lock code on the door things were stolen ...

Had an expensive generator stolen from a locked outbuilding at a yard I used to lease. We relied on the generator as there was no electricity supply as the location was rather remote and of course it got stolen at Christmas time when there was no chance of replacing it straight away, so had to muck out by torchlight for a week .

It was stolen from a concrete/breeze block building with heavily bolted door (they had still managed to force all the bolts and cropped through the padlocks). The generator itself was inside this building and was actually bolted to a heavy duty chain which was concreted into the ground. This was bolt-croppered through as well, so the theft had obviously been planned. Someone had obviously driven past in the dark "scouting" the area and heard the generator running and sussed out which building it was in. Otherwise they would have had no way of knowing where it was. Luckily, insurance paid out on this one. However I gave up the lease of the yard a few weeks later because I found a far superior place to rent! And haven't needed a new generator since!

I would have thought it would be easier to steal a trailer, but round here i have heard of more horse lorries being taken?

Sorry to hear about all your tack and things
