A police officer

For being plod....depends on your attitude...sometimes ok
For immigration...applaud....somebody's gotta keep control of the borders!!
For the call centre....my sympathy

For the benefits officer...join the line for punishment!!!

Immigration would have been better had this bl**dy government not tied all immigration officers hands behind their backs by introducing various pieces of ridiculous legislation which make it impossible to return anyone, even the most hideous criminals, back to their country of origin. (sorry for the rant)

I am a care assistant, which most people seem to turn their noses up at, including my OH, who refuses to tell his friends at work what I do lol.

I'm with Becky but I'm an insolvency solicitor mainly dealing with bankruptcies so I get them turfed out onto the street. People regularly call me every name under the sun (the worst I've been called is a f****** c***!! Lovely!) and my favourite question they ask me is......

"How do you sleep at night?" - soundly thanks!! And the money I get from selling everything you own keeps me and my horse well fed and watered thanks very much!!!

(Honestly, outside of work I'm lovely!! I just get paid to be a b***h!!)

My daughter is a care assistant. She acts as senior care assistant, but doesnt get the extra money, despite her being as qualified as the assistant manager.

She gets minumum wage and its discraceful for what she does but she loves working and looking after the elderly.

I certainly couldnt do it but its a good job there are people who will.
 
I wanted to be a Traffic Warden when I was younger but then I joined the police.

I also worked as a receptionist in a hotel and I wasn't shall we say helpful to some of the guests (especially when they pissed me off).

I've left the police now and work in social services but I still wouldn't mind that traffic warden job............
 
I'm an administrator for a recruitment agency, have to do payroll for 200 temps, it keeps my boy Wishy in good gear and fed well so i don't mind going there for 42.5 hours of my week. Pretty well paid too.
Come on BrackenHappy and Dressager, what do you do?

Everyone's worst enemy til theyre involved in something serious then they can't get enough of you.

Scary sometimes, really stressful at others but absolutely love what I do and fiercely proud/passionate about it which is why I get so shirty when people criticise the Old Bill on here and I cringe so much when colleagues let the side down.
 
I have a scary and deeply unpopular job but I had to sign a bit of paper with a pretty crown on it to promise I wouldn't tell (well, not tell too many people anyway)

I am an HR & Payroll Manager, I was real popular today due to a banking error at NATWEST GRRR, none of my 250 weekly staff got paid on thursday...only got paid end of today...real popular i was!!

I also fire and hire, the fire part I hate especially when its long serving people through no fault of their own.....
 
I used to work for the Dept of work and pensions as a visiting officer. Then I worked in a home for people with mental health problems, now I work in a primary school(actually, that could be the scariest one!!!)

i think my job is pretty unpopular - all everyone seems to do is moan about us! no-one actually wants to see us because it usually means their animal is unwell and almost certainly is going to cost them a lot of money.
 
I used to work in a call centre but it was customer services and a good company that prides its customer service so we actually could help people a lot of the time which meant most people I spoke to were happy!

Job now i doubt can be considered unpopular as I work for a company that makes/sells fruit juice!
