to get out your horses passport and research the pedigree? I've just been onto allbreedspedigree site and researched my partbreds. Very interestuing to see , way back, how much TB arabian hackney norfolk trotter there is in the welsh cob.

My lads won't really tell much, as I sent off for it when I got him (17 mths) I have his vaccination card from before hand, but passports weren't compulsory when I got him. I do know he came from an auction at 6 months and that's about it...

I know mine back many many generations. Very very interesting and you can get very absorbed in it :)

My mare is half TB so easy to trace that part! Very interesting to see which race horses she is distantly related to! It's the other side I want to know more about - her sire is Fergus the Bogeyman.

I looked up my Welshie and traced him back well over 250 years, it was fascinating. I also found out who his siblings and half siblings are too and googled those and found some great pics :)

It's fascinating, on Sporthorse-data there are actual photographs and paintings of my Mares ancestors going way back.
Very absorbing and not really helping to reduce the ironing pile:rolleyes:
