Thats lovely, a red letter day for you and the youngster.

Me, I spent a happy morning in the wind filling in rabbit holes. Pesky rabbits have been hopping over from the allotment.
Then OH and I rode out in gale force winds which was certainly refreshing.

took my TB out for a good gallop today which was fun as always :)

Taking him out again tomorrow with my OH who is taking my YO's 4yo for his first hack which should be...entertaining :)

Had a fab lesson on my lil mare today, finally think we may get somewhere with the dressage lark! OH is gonna show jump her tomorrow, me thinks she'll enjoy that more! ;)

No riding for us today as the local shoot is on saturday :(
Plus it's pretty windy here today , not that it would bother Paddy but i do like to beable to hear the cars screaming up behind me.:D

Would've been better if I didn't work last night............ and didn't have to work tonight!
I hate my weekends on in winter! Soooooo tiiiiiiired :D yawn xx

ive been up since daft o clock, mucked out my 2 neds, lunged the mare over some x country jumps i built, and a ditch i dug hehe, then a few of us from the farm picked a million apples, cut them, squished them, and made apple juice and cider.. slightly miffed as expected freinds kids to ride my pony but they flatly refused so not only did i not get to ride, the horses including my injured horse that needs to be out spent the day stood in grrr..
i knew there was a reason i never bred from myself! id be a useless mother! :D

now then who ever knew apples turn your hands black! im off riding on the moor tomorrow with a friend and i can not wait!

Yes thanks :)

Big fuzzy was a total loon to hack once we had been out for 10 mins, a complete & utter irriot: fly leaping everywhere - scaring dog walkers & doing the biggest leaps ever & cantering on the spot & plunging about :p
Did lots of trot work where I could & went home after 40 mins & schooled in grass paddock - went beautifully - so well that we could have gone & done a novice test very well

Then met Claire-and-Nadia for scrummy brekkie - even better cos my boss popped in (most odd!) but he paid for us!

Chilled out at home since lunchtime & popped back to yard to put fuzzys to bed, now got red vino on the go & a lovely chilli-pasta cooking in the oven :D

Thanks for asking- and for the first time in 3 weeks its a big YES.

Lost my lovely mare 3 weeks ago and have been going crazy with nothing to do...today picked up my friends lovely big ginge warmblood homebred who is spending a couple of months with me. Feel normal and slightly exhausted for the first time in ages.

Glad that everyone else seems to have had fun too :D

Great day thanks; I took my boy for his first outing in my first ever trailer! Went for a fantastic hack with a friend and am still grinning from ear to ear at the realisation that I finally have my own wheels :)

Jingle Ells Bells, will do tomorrow morning! I've had plenty of others to ride whilst she's been off, but theres nothing quite like getting back on your own horse. Especially when it seemed so unlikely she would ever be rideable again.
Glad to hear things are going well with your girl to.

Good day :) spent some time with my new pretty much unhandled 2yo filly who I picked up on sunday. Walked up to top field to get her stopped to give mare a cuddle and filly came across tge field to me! probably nosiness but was still very nice. She then led beautifully down the field despite the others mucking about came in was tied up in the yard for the 2nd time ever & first on her own and had her feet picked out which was verg confusing for her :p. Then went for a walk round the drive & even when mare was being prattish behind the hedge she was a bit scared and spooky but nothing major and listened. Took her in the manege for the first time ever walked round snorting but foot perfect then did some walk circles around me which took some getting used to with one 'naughty moment', she quickly learnt about halting and standing in her own 'space' & finished on a good note and led her back past whinnying mare retied in yard for an apple. Turned her out again and she stood perfectly to have her leadrope off despite idiot mare! And when I got her in from field she walked back into stable no hesitations, the first time since arriving (we believe as she was kept in for 2wks at the stud). Shes also got used to being rugged and is generally an angel; the worlds best huge ginger monster :p :) sometimes the small victories are the best! :D

Yes, managed to get Affy out on another long reining session before the gail force winds really kicked in, and although i spent 15 minutes trying to get her to choose between the horse bridge and the stream (walk on and good girl having lost their affect after 5 minutes), I eventually got her over the stream without my arms being dislocated and we had a really good session!

and today is just as good as yesterday

Great hack out - bit of initial high spirits & pogo-ing but then an alert fun ride, working on the bridle much of the time & doing some lovely canter work.

Nothing better than doing all the chores 1st, then on return from ride lobbing horse out (& friend) into fresh paddock - with no rug on - & standing sipping my coffee whilst just watching them munch

Just eating my egg & bacon sarnie now & chilling out :)

Cannot believe its 14 degrees out there!
