Have you had a range of breeds over the years ?

13.1 Welsh x Arab

One or two extremes there over 25 yrs everything from Arab to Clydesdale. And up and down in height I ve just realised

 that is A LOT! what one was your favourite :D ?

Dont i know that feeling, i think it's as you get older you don't quite bounce if you fall off.. more of a splat ? :D

You are more than welcome , he is extremely lucky to have found you many would have given up, bless him he seems like a star

haha to be honest ive only fallen off fox once in 7 years! and its cos he was having too much fun galloping to notice a fence despite me trying to tell him it was there  my friend had a mare i used to ride for her and she was a psycho, would be trotting fine then would be broncing 6 foot in the air, dont know how i stayed on but i did, although my language was pretty colourful lmao :D

oh i nearly did so many times, glad i didnt though, hes my baby :o

Wow that is a huge range :D and heights :) have you any pictures of the Lusitano X TB interested as to what he/she looks like (beautiful i am sure)

Rachaelstar your horse is beautiful, lovely expression.
First pony- Welsh Sec D x Arab x TB
then an Anglo Arab (lost at the age of 35)
then hombred filly from pony to a TB stallion (still have her now rising 20)
then Arab x TB on loan (fabulous horse and I miss him every day)
then Welsh sect D (still have him)
and last but not least my three lovely little minis which I absolutely adore and they make me smile every day.:)

My favourite has to be the 13.1hh welshxarab. We had her for 25 years she was 44 when we had her PTS a couple of years ago a stereotypic chestnut mare. But then I loved the Clyde bought him unhandled as a 3 yr old in a pub car park!!! and the IDxTB she was a lady dapple grey like a rocking horse she was taken too soon in an accident so a lot of what ifs with her. My little filly I have now is a star too she fills her own water bucket up with the hose pipe. All my horses have taught me something most we kept till it was their time to go over rainbow bridge. I have so many happy (and sad) memories that I wouldn't change for the world.

If you don't count the loan pony I had when I was 10, then just my lovely little Arab mare. My parents bought her for me when I was 11, and we're now into our 12th year together :D. Would definitely have another Arab, but I'd love a Lusitano if possible.

I would have another Standie in a heartbeat :D Not another mentally scarred one, however!

I love everything about Neddy, how quick he is, how he jumps, how he trots and canters :D I'd love to ride some more to see if I love them too :D

1. Started with an ungelded, unbacked, 13hh, 8YO rescue pony who was crazy! He's now gelded but still unbacked and an absolute sweetheart. (we still have him)
2. Loaned a 16.2hh, ISH, imported, skewbald, mare (first & last!) who taught me how to canter.
3. 18YO, TB, exracer, 16.2hh, first horse I ever jumped on - was the love of my life. Unfortunately pts due to previous injury becoming unmanageable.
4. Brother loaned a 16.3hh, 20yo, TB, exracer who was a nutter. He spent more time on the ground than in the saddle and had numerous ER visits. We loved that horse, he had such spunk!
5. 16hh, 4YO, TB, exracer (can you see a trend?!), straight from the track. Bit spooky, an angel on the ground. We taught him how to jump. Unfortu

*unfortunately pts due to liver failure.
6. 15hh, chunky monkey, unknown breeding, found in a shed, 12YO, amazing jumper/XC pony! Still have him :)
7. Brother loans a 17hh, 5YO, Scottish imported warm blood who's still pretty green

Shetland called Jacko
1/2 Arab 1/2 welsh 12.2 called dinky
14.0h called Paddy
15.3h TBx Norwegian F called Nicky
15.1 BBWA called Cataluna
16.1 TB Roxi
16.2 WB Called Max
16.0 KWPN Salene
Current 17hh Oldenburg called Ludo

Not a huge range here, in order with ages/heights as we got them:
12hh Exmoor Gelding parents had from foal before me.
10.2 Shetland Stallion then Gelded parents has as a foal from before me.
5YO 11.2 WelshA recently cut
4YO 9.2 Shetland Gelding- we still have him.
7YO 11.3 WelshA mare
8YO 10.1 Shetland mare
9YO 13.1 Heinz 57 assumed NFX
14.1 Connie Gelding
Then onto what I have now/share with family
7YO 11.1 WelshA gelding currently out on loan
8YO 13.3 WelshC PB- owned for 7 years
6YO 13.3 Heinz 57 assumed WelshXTB- Owned for 7 years
And a 4YO 16.3 KWPN gelding- owned for 18months.
We're pony people!

My first boy, Tex, was a Welsh Cob X. He was the sweetest, sanest, most unflappable just-backed 4 year old I have ever encountered
P1010438.jpg

Then was my darling Dylan, who I bought as an 8 year old. He was the very definition of the nutty TBX but he had an absolute heart of gold and taught me everything I know :)

And now I'm on the hunt for a Sec D/ISH type as my next one ...

Welsh sec D - first loan horse, a little barmy... I learnt how to sit tight!

Then...
Heavy weight cob
Light weight cob

And I suppose we could include OHs ridiculous tb that was with us for 9 months in the end as her actual owner was too scared to ride it, go in the stable with it, feed it, catch it.... Etc etc etc

I started at 2 with an ancient 10hh dartmoor x called Poppy
At 4 got a just broken 12.2 Welsh C called Toby - we taught each other to jump and did all sorts.
Then from 7 I think I averaged a pony a year until I was 17!
13.2 welsh x
12.2 welsh x arab - napped and reared for England and was generally a little ***** but I probably owe my sticky bum to him more than any other horse
13.1 welsh x arab
13.2 Newforest - brill allround pony who was very green when I got her but who went on to win in every discipline. Just an altogether lovely mare
14.2 ex JA mare. Had developed a habit of dirty stops so that assisted no end with a defensive XC seat ;) Won lots of dressage though (and randomly the RC gymkhana championship!)
14.2 4yo connie. When we went to see her some other people were trying her - she was tanking off round the school and they baled out. Bought her for next to nothing and went on to win absolutely every HT we entered. She didn't know how to refuse a fence and would literally jump anything. A nice person too. Loved that little mare - and spent the next 15 years longing for a 16.2 version of her.
15.3 TBx lovely mare but no real spark (I like naughty ponies!)
Sold her to go to uni but then rode a lovely 14.2 heavy cob who was a complete nutter.

Had a break and then bought Baz nearly 5 years ago. I was looking for a ISH mare, about 4yo. I bought a TB ex racer, gelding, 7yo. I guess he reminded me of my connie with his attitude to jumping. I love the bones of this horse. He was a b*gger on the ground when I got him but then I found out he'd just been gelded and I can literally do anything with him now. He is the most genuine horse ever and is another who doesn't know how to refuse.

I also bought a lovely little mare (Honey/Ghengis) for my little boy last year. She's a sweetheart. Bit green and a bit sharp at times but my little boy loves her and we are looking to get out to lots of fun shows this year.

I used to ride the same 4 little ponies at a local riding school from being 5.
Pepper. My favorite. A little dumpling 11.2hh chestnut gelding. He was a lovely little pony but hated jumping and would get me off all the time right in the the middle of a cross pole. I remember the pride of once beating a 14 year old girl at gymkhana because I was on pepper and he wizzed around everything :) he was sold on and died after I left the riding school in 2004

There was Minstrel who was a lazy little ******. He was black and 11.3hh. Your legs would ache after riding him.

Cola was 12.3hh and also black but was a little star. I rode him on my last lesson and he jumped huge jumps without a second thought.

There was a few other ponies at the riding school who I rode, but most of then were not ideal riding school ponies

i rode a welsh a called Milo for a while and rode a tb who was mental and galloped off with me round the field. I was too scared to get on a horse for two yrs after that.
I have ridden 5 ponies/horses at my newest yard. The last being my tb who was put to sleep last week
on advice from posters I am riding an Arab later on today. Fingers crossed I dont come back broken!

As a kid I use to ride a variety of different ponies and horses at the riding school. Below is me riding a pony called Dillon.

Had break from riding from the age of 17-22 when I met my OH. He'd had Dutch Warmbloods all his life and moved over here with his mare Joyce. She was a bright bay 16.hh eventer but was a proper skinny racing snake, looked more TB than warmblood. When we retired her, we got DJ a TBX 4 year old gelding

3 years ago I got Chloe, a bay 15.1hh a 9 year old poss Anglo Arab X on loan, bought her in 2011. Sadly last year DJ was PTS and last summer we bought Amber a chesnut 4 year old 16.3hh, reg ISH whose more TB than Irish. Below is a pic of me and our girls.

Sent too early!
After the gypsy cob I finally bought my current boy: a 15.1 Welsh D/Arab x Selle Francais/Holstein. I put him out on loan last year and had a 16.1hh Morgan on loan before having my Rio back 8 months later :)

Yes. For the last 25 years I have always had an arab, and I always will.
I don't do unregistered horses for myself, as I breed. Currently have Paints, AQHA, arab, paso fino and appaloosas
