Have you had your grass, hay or haylage analysed? If so...

Would you be prepared to share the results with me, for part of a research project? I'm researching the differences in nutritional values of grasses and forages from across the UK.

Names, addresses, contact details, yard etc will all be kept confidential, and if you prefer you could just supply the info anonymously along with the name of the nearest town to which the sample was grown. The information will be collated to compare differences in equine forage across the UK, and to evaluate the use of vitamin and mineral supplements.

Anyone who supplies information which can help is welcome to see the finished report (minus anyone's confidential info ;) )

If you can help, or have any questions, please PM me for my email address.

Many thanks :)

Great idea for a research project. I see one possible problem, in that most people don't know what type of grass they graze and also many don't know what grasses their forage contains. I know of one large feed merchant who sells italian ryegrass haylage to all and sundry- including pony club mothers:rolleyes: But a fantastic idea to get an overall idea of nutritional values.

I have had my soil and forage analysed but unfortunately im unable to help as i have absolutely no idea where the results are. Sorry. :oBut have you contacted dodson and horrell? Because they offer an analysis service and they may be prepared to share results.

Thanks TeddyT, I'll ask them.

I'm not actually that worried about the grass species for this (that's being included in the preceeding research project), just the nutritional content.

:)
