Have you seen these new rugs??

Yep saw those at Hickstead and someone came up my yard with them to try and sell them (Am on big RS yard, which would probably explain that!)

Many items of human clothing have zips and are fully waterproof. My mum does long distance walking (100miles+) and as such spends a fortune on decent clothes, her coats all zip up. Equally dry suits for sailors and fishermen contain zips.

Re: mud, I'm assuming you wouldn't try to change the size until you had cleaned the rug first.

I think it's a really innovative design

I agree with some,
surely the zips would leak and rub, and you will only really need one size so why the need to change it?
not a fan at all!

You don't know if it would rub, I'm assuming there is a lining which pads it.

Again, many many items of human clothing are completely waterproof, yet have zips. My mum spent almost £500 on a coat, which zips up, which she most definately would not have spent had it not been waterproof!

I sail but use a wet suit, however my uncle wear a dry suit, and that is made from zips. If a dry suit leaked it would mean almost certain drowning if the sailor fell in the water.

ETA: You only need one if you only have one horse! The rug is probably marketed at people who have more than one horse, and so having one rug that can fit many horses is very good economically.

I think it is an interesting idea. If my yearling needs a rug I would look at them as it could "grow" with him - he is growing like a weed at the moment. Then when he has grown out of it completely it could be downsized for the old girlie.... Worth a look I would think.
