Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has used the above? It says it starts working in 2-3 days and I started adding it gradually 5 days ago.
I took my mare out for a hack today and she was a nightmare! And back at the yard she was jumping at things and getting really uptight - a lot more than usual!

I'm wondering if she's just had a bad day and it hasn't kicked in yet...I wasn't expecting miracles but 'concentration, safety, no-stress' it isn't yet!

I did see something about someone using a calmer and it made their horse worse so it would be interesting to hear any comments!!

I;ve used it with fantastic results, GH do say that it may act as a tonic for a couple of days before its calming effects kick in so i'd stick with a little longer just to be sure.
I've tried quite a few and found GH to be the best for me.

Maybe that's what's happening then!! She was very spooky on a hack this morning and she's usually ok in company.
I will stick at it and keep fingers crossed that it kicks in soon!

I've only used the temporary Supercalm stuff - on my horse when travelling and on my loan horse to be clipped. Made no difference to my horse (but made me feel calmer - lol!) but my loan horse acted like she'd been sedated!!!!

We use it for a very spooky and stressy horse at work. He came off it for 2 weeks and we really saw a difference in him so put him straight back on again

I am trying this at the moment. Spoke to the GH rep who said it can make them worse for the first few days before it kicks in. It deffo did with my mare! She was spooky (which is very unusual) and much sharper.

Im about 2 weeks in now and think it is making a difference. Shes quieter to jump (as she in obsessed about jumping!!) and to hack (although shes never naughty really, just keen lol) Ive brought another tub so will give her that then stop it to see if there is a change back

I'm sure I read on here from another user, that your horse has to have a magnesium deficinecy, in order for a magnesium based calmer to actually have any effect?

However, I used it on my old horse, who was nervous aggressive - I found it worked well.

It seems to have kicked in now, she was really stressy for a while but the last few days she has chilled out, we had a jumping lesson today and we didn't go 100mph over every jump! I have used up the small tub so off to get a large one tomorrow!!

It worked for my Dutch Warmblood, however my friend's pony fractured his leg so she stuck him on the global herbs mag calm which works a treat apparently.

Although, now i have stopped using superclam and just use magnitude and to be honest don't notice the different in his behaviour only my purse hehe (its so much cheaper)
