I walk mine either for a 1 hour walk or 2 30 min walks every day without fail. Yesterday she got nearly 2 hours in total and today is such bad weather I am debating if I can get away with not walking her? She is settled in her basked and doesnt even want to go out for a poo in the garden when I offer. Should I feel guilty or relax and have a glass of vino??

If she's happy and you're happy, I'd crack that vino open. Just be prepared for a backlash tomorrow - if she's anything like Henry she'll have the devil in her!

Nope. I have an excuse though

Usually they get around 1 1/2- 2 hours of a walk on weekdays split into 3 or so outings. However they are happy to have to odd day off with just tearing round the garden for a bit.

Break out the wine.

LMAO - my greyhounds? Walk in this weather? No chance

I went competing today and they spent the whole time smugly sat in the dry lorry with their warm coats on

I dragged them out across the car park to see if they needed a wee, whereupon they looked at me with disgust so I put them back again

Yep. Popple had half an hour at the park this morning, and then just over an hour playing at the yard and going round the fields this afternoon.

Not enough to wear her out, by any means, but enough to take the edge off her.

If Otto doesn't get walked everyday he turns into a raving loony and starts doing wall of death around the house. Plus he likes nothing better than getting soaking wet and muddy

and call me bonkers, but even in this foul weather, I love walking him!

It's dry over here, just windy and icy cold so Beastie was walked and wore her little pink coat

Heading over to my friends now to walk her three but it won't be as long a walk as I'll be on my own and there tends to be a few unsavoury characters hanging about

Mine came to the yard with me twice and spent half the time squashed under the wheelbarrow to keep out of the rain

On another note I can vouch for how snuggly and warm Splotchy's doggies were today - I used them as radiators

icy cold up here today too but did gundog training for 2 hrs this morn, my trainer gave me the pheasant we had been using so promptly went home, picked up hubby and other dog, went straight down to the forest for another hour to practice some more and show off to hubby as he's never seen him retrieve game! Couldn't feel my feet by the time we got home but it was fun!

Yep.....7am pishing down rain, I was ill through the night got up at 5am, took meds, took half the pack for a walk, then came home meds kickd in and I was basicaly off my face till about 4pm this afternoon in the meantime OH took the rest of the pack and made my dinner and woke me to crawl from my bed and eat

For the past week (Thanksgiving holiday in the US) Stella has been zooming around on a beach in Florida, so yes, plenty of walks

Ordinarily she gets about two hours a day, more at weekends.

As an aside, here's a grainy picture taken earlier today at the airport; she is such a marvellous little traveller.

Yup - mine gets 2 hours a day without fail - split into two walks. She'd never allow me to get away with short changing her. She's a Lab so the wet weather is a bonus as far as she's concerned!

The spaniels went shooting on Saturday and have gone again today, Saturday was the first time I've seen the cocker completely exhausted, so it showed that he actually worked properly this time! Lurcher and lab puppy have zoomed around our field as much or as little as they want, same today, they've had two short bursts around the field before work. I won't ever walk all four on my own in a public place, I simply don't trust them enough (well, some of them!) and four is hell of a lot to subject other dog walkers to, my OH is the main dog person in our family, I'm the horse one, although we both work on the dogs basic training.

Leah does not leave the house in inclement weather.

I had to more or less force her into the garden for a wee, and she was begging to come back in again before I'd even shut the door! She's currently curled up by the fire feeling keeping cosy, and I think she would be there until spring if I let her.

I never walk my dogs as we own the farm and livery yard so they are out on the yard helping me put out horses, muck out, bring in, move haylage, feed etc so they are out in all weathers but sporting a variety of rugs to try and keep them dry and warm - both are lurchers so warm and fine when running, shivering wimps when wet!
