Today all 3 of my ponies were milling around in the yard.
Lilly my youngster tried to come in the feed room while I was making up the feeds, and banged her head on a cupboard, then shot backwards banging her bum on the gate.
I went out to check she was OK and rub it better and then she wouldn't let me catch her - she's very evasive when she want to get away
Anyway, so while she was ducking and diving Rosie headed her off and cornered her between the gate and the hedge. And then stood there by Lilly while I checked Lilly's head and made sure she hadn't cut herself. Gave Rosie a big hug and then she wandered off - job done!!
And ages ago when Lilly was having a rug put on for only the 3rd time, unbeknown to me she'd undone the rope, so when I put the rug on her she had a bit of a jump and then thinking she was untied, went to take off.
There was a big knot in the end of the rope so she pulled her lead rope through the bailer twine to the knot and then had about 10ft of play to run back and forward parallel with the gate in mid panic.
I stood back (trying to pacify her by talking) otherwise she'd have crushed me, while she was whizzing back and forth.
Rosie and Inks were standing right there and then Inka just strode in and started nuzzling her shoulder. She stopped whizzing about, so I approached, still talking to her and put the rug on properly. Inka stood there the whole time nuzzling her as if to say 'it's OK silly, she's not hurting you' It brought a tear to my eye
Especially as this is so unusual for Inka. The only pony he ever nuzzles is Rosie, he bullies Lilly like mad normally!!
