Still snowed in here down in south hants :(
Haven't seen my horse in two days now as can't get to my yard. Although a kind yard member is sorting him out for me i'm still worrying! When you see your horse everyday of your life it brings a horrible feeling when you can't reach him. Anyone else not able to get to their horse in the big freeze?

I have not been able to get to the yard since Wednesday night and its horrible im missing him so much I know he is ok as im getting calls to tell me is all ok, but I understand how you feel fingers crossed you can get to the yard soon

Know how bad you must feel, OH wouldn't let me go back to the yard last night to put her to bed (my friend was doing it for me).

I hated it, even though I had seen her at lunchtime. My mate did send me a text though once she was all tucked in. That really helped.

In a way they can become like your kids - after all you are responsible for them. (and in case anyone is wondering - I'm 46 and have 2 people-type kids - so my mare is not a child substitute :D )

I haven't seen rose since tuesday morning:( the main roads are clearish but can't get the car out of our street, then the road into the village where the yard is really bad aswell (yard owners said not to even try) luckily they are amazing people and are looking after her until I can get there. Oh and we had more snow lastnight and we now have freezing fog and I can't see the bottom of my garden:(

I am the same hun, i have land in the most gorgeous place but as its in the middle of nowhere its a pain to get to. I have been relying on my friends who have horses down there and 4x4's. I felt sick with worry yesterday because i have 3 horses i cant see. I am walking over later which will take about 2 hours but i cant keep sitting here feeling helpless :(

Thank god for good yards like we all seem to have & the friendly people there. Would be going even more crazy than i already am if i had no one to sort him out in this weather!

HollyB66 - Horses are most certainly become like our children! Just children who don't complain or throw so many tanrums!

Lets hope the snow clears shortly and we can all get to our beloved horses, i'm going mad stuck inside! Rarely had one day where i sit at home.. & now i've had two!

Indeed. Could've done with a snow walking buddy!
Would've been funny (and very convenient!) if you had lived near my horses and i had lived near yours.
Good luck with the snow down there. Hopefully it will clear in a couple of days. Fingers crossed.

Yeah I know the feeling, and I hate it! My YO is doing them for me, infact she's doing all the horses on the yard as no one has been able to get up there, but I still can't help but worry! and also haven't been there since monday :(

LOL - I know where you're coming from Rowenna, even if I didn't have a 4x4, I only live a mile from my yard so no excuses for me.

Although must say I'm also with the OP - I hate anyone else doing my horses, and would be slightly frantic if I couldn't make it there!

I sympathise with you all. I'm lucky enough to keep my horses at home but all the water is frozen solid and our lane is treacherous to drive down........... I thought we were struggling but its nothing compared to what your all coping with.
Stay safe everyone.

I havnt seen mine since monday night. :(
My friend has been getting a lift up to the yard to do her 2 and mine, i had planned to try and get up there tonight but the roads are now icy round where i am so i know they will worse up where the yard is. :(
I know he will be looked after but i feel really bad dumping him on her and its not the same as doing him myself. Im also getting slight cabin fever not being able to check him and make sure he is ok.
