Its now 9 weeks since I gave up Drifter and just over 3 weeks since he was sold. For the first time in ages I actually felt like playing with horses and as my friend is on holiday I went over to her place and played with her horse.
She is somewhat overweight and needs work. She was a little exhuberant last time I rode her so I took her out to the field and worked her on the lunge. Now I know why she feels so unbalanced ridden she was all over the place. I was trying to get her to do trot walk transitions and slow her trot a little as she goes at 100 miles an hour. She was quiet challenging but I did get some decent work out of her. Everytime I tried to get her to walk a circle she shot off in trot.
After I had finished and washed her down I spent an hour poo picking her field and loved every minute of it how sad is that.
I phoned her later to let her know that I had worked her horse and asked if she was always so tricky on the lunge and she said I dont know I have never lunged her. Well they say ignorance is bliss!!
The little mare is 8 by the way about 15 hands Welsh Cross.
