hi we bought a horse 2 years ago (actually i worked the horse off via breaking and schooling) and he gave us the passport and i should have sent it off but we didnt. the horse was bought from an auction by the man i worked for in a lot, i am unsure whether the horse was sold at auction by the previous owner. the previous owners name and address are in the passport and i need her to tell the welsh pony and cob society that she is no longer hers. question, what if she says the horse is still hers? i bought it from the man i worked for but he had not registered the horse in his name. i have a reciept of sale given to me by the man, but the society will not accept this as it needs to be from the person last registered in the passport. any help would be very much appreciated, thanks richard :(

This happened to me - my colt was sold at auction, (weaned at the sale as far as I can gather :( ), when he was 4 months old. The seller hadn't signed the passport and the new owner didn't bother to transfer ownership into his name. I bought the colt a month later, and had to ring the breeder, as he was the last named person on the passport.

Luckily for me he was lovely, I sent him the passport and an sae for the WPCS, and he signed it and sent it on.

I must admit, I was a bit worried too, but I had to bite the bullet to be legal. Good luck, I'm sure it will be fine :)
