I always think that making the decision is the toughest bit but also think that once you start thinking if it is the right decision then it usually is.

Well done Minty - sounds like it was peaceful and calm which is all we can ever ask for at the end.

A good friend recently had to put down a 6yo cob she'd had since she was 2 after vet investigations came back with serious problem after serious problem - a couple were probably genetic and the rest the knock on effects of a body which was just too compromised. Like you she was devastated to make the decision but is sleeping peacefully at night now she isn't worrying about her little mare being in pain. I hope you find the same level of peace knowing you made the right decision at the right time xx

Last October I had to make the decision to have my homebred 7yr old pts. Due to severe foot issues. It was the hardest thing I ever did and I'm still not over it. It was the right decision just a shit one xxxx
