Hay after the snow ?

I had a big round bale of hay put in my field about a month ago then about 2 weeks ago we had snow. It's all melted now and my horse has started eating the hay again is this ok or should I remove it ?

Sorry if I sound like a numpty ! I just haven't come across this before ?

I am only asking as the yard know it all has said I shouldn't let him eat it now ;-)

Unless its mouldy I should think it will be fine

I had the same kind of problem as you only my haylage was left out.
Horses have still been eating 'snowed on' haylage with no problems so i would say its fine
