I am thinking of investing in hay bags for my 2 perhaps because I have a bit of cash and like the look of them (not the best reason i know!) I like the idea of horses eating off the floor but can't abide the waste and mess, I am currently using haynets... have done for years, but am on a bit of a freaky spending spree at the moment and thought I would invest in a couple. Just wondering if anyone uses them for general stable use and if so do you find them any better/worse than the general haynets?

Cheers

Em

I use mine when I don't want the horses to hoover the hay up quickly or I don't want to make too much of a mess of the horsebox.

One of my horses was a little scared of it at first when I put it up. It was so funny watching him snatch a mouthful of hay then move away quickly until he realised the new things was not going to eat him. Now he doesn't bat an eyelid at it.

I have the shires ones and I like them but if you do tie them up on the outside of your lorry, they swing more so may scratch your paint work more so I;ve stopped doing that.

i prefer them as less likely to have an injury with one - far better in trailer - less mess. Use mine outside stable for tying up and in trailer - I dont think really slows her eating down though

i got one for my greedy cob. it was great until he chewed a big hole in it which made all the hay come out really quickly! ended up throwing it away. i got a shires one!

they are good though :)

My horse is a very fast eater and it has slowed her down. Very useful for travelling as can have emergency hay net in boot of car without hay all over place.
