My mare can be in the round pen now for 1/2 a day after 6 months box rest, she had a melt down yesterday after a few hours. Vet worried about weight with feed/ready grass. I am more worried about damaging her leg. I have a treat ball already am thinking of a hay ball and put her haylage in. Which is the best horse for a 16.1hh horse as I was thinking of the 75 mm one
any tips?

TIA

Maybe look at Stubbs hay rollers - they don’t ‘roll’ as far as the hay balls which may help.
They gave my horse a mark from getting the hay out and are quite heavy - but overall a useful part of the mix.

Thnx My livery has one but Declined as she is a spooky mare and the round pen is quite far from the hay barn. her mare and foal had it and knocked it over and it is only for 3 weeks and then no where to put it, with a ball I can put in her stable too.

Are you sure you're thinking of the same thing? The hay rollers are similar size to hay balls, so just as easy to move, and can go in the stable. Less likely to be used as a toy, as they don't roll as easily

I got a large rubber dog ball with holes, much cheaper and you can put carrots etc in with the hay. Like the ones on the ruffle snuffle website but homemade
