Who do you use and how much do they charge?

YO sources our hay for us, and we are paying £5.50 a bale for it - ouch! Just wondered whether this is pretty standard or there are cheaper prices out there?

I've found some haylege at £5 a bale, but on 20kg bales so a small, small bale really!

Would appreciate any comments...

We're in Surrey - but our hay is now £6.50 a bale. Small bale haylage is between £4.95 and £7.50 depending on the make - but the bales are very small and last just under a week each, where as the hay bales last almost 8 days each.

For £5.50 a bale I might come down there and buy it from you!

I'm in Hants and am paying £8 for a big small bale and £45 for a large round haylage.

Its gone up hugely over the last 6 months.

Our YO supplies it and when the price went up by £1.25 per small bale for this year's hay I went and checked out a couple of other suppliers nearby. Nothing under £6.50 per bale, which was more expensive than our YO was charging. We are paying less than you but YO did the cutting and baling himself off the field rather than buying it from someone else.
