Hay how long

I've ran out of old hay got my new stuff but its only 5 weeks old (managed to get it in in SEPT!!!!) now I always thought it should be 6 weeks old before feeding....so should I try and get some old stuff or will 5 week old stuff be alright???

I have fed new hay straight off the field as long as you are careful should be fine. I have found them a bit more lively depending on the richness of the hay.
