Hay Hutch any one used it???

Not seen these before, but like the look of them. They are expensive though

i have a young horse that cannot have a haynet coz hes had a tieback needs to be fed in stable from floor, thought this mite be a good idea but was worried about him getting his feet in gaps ect?????????????????

I wondered about them getting their feet caught too thats why I posted to see if anyone had used them.

I have tried the tubtrug thing too and all the haylage just ends up on the floor....which they proceed to use as a toilet!
 
Think they look good in theory, however knowing the selection of mongrel neddies in the field at least one of them would be wearing it round their leg or wherever else by the end of the first day. Or alternatively would be in a fence/ditch after they've finished the hay and proceeded to play football with it!
Might slow down the fast eaters a bit though, and would definitely save hay if used in the field.

I like the look of them but wonder how the horses get the last bit of hay out of the bottom. I use trugs too but horses wont eat hay that has been rained on and will tip most out anyway and deposit round field. I wonder if there are any other inventors for a solution to this. Would be good to hear from actual users as seriously tempted!
