Hi, i am looking to bulk buy with other members of the yard an amount of hay ie, 200-300 bales + (if we can find storage - now in negotion with yo) as our yo has told us that what they are suppplying hasnt been cut yet and wont be very good, and that if we want decent hay we will have to buy it out selves.
any way, does anyone know of any where selling nice ragwort and poisonous plant free hay? i add about poisonous plants as ive just bought a few small bales and its got oak leaves in!

any help greatly appreceiated x

I think you may have a few problems getting it. With the weather how it has been & the general shortage at the moment, most suppliers, who have any left, are supplying existing customers only. Normally an order for 200/300 bales would be welcome but at the moment I doubt if many will have the stock....that's how it is around Warwickshire anyway.... sorry it isn't good news

Agree with Toby_Zaphod, i'm in huntingdon, cambs and there is no one round this area with large orders for sale. Many are having problems this year and can not help those people growing thier own like they normally do. Luckily I do not have to worry as i rent one of my hay mans paddocks and as he's a family friend i have been told i need not worry.

Hope you find some.

Same as above , our local supplier is supplying existing clients only , once they have what they want he will sell then to others

I'm in North Cambs and I have some spare round bales of last year's hay and also of the year before's crop. Our grass was seeded three years ago on fresh ground. The older hay is weedfree, last year's hay has a few thistles - most bales won't have any. This year's hay hasn't been cut and but I'm still hoping . . . . . Looks like I may have to have it made into small bales (if I can persuade the farmer) as the price will be good for it!

I can let some go but I can't supply the equivalent of 200-300 bales with what I have here though until I've had mine cut. There was someone local to me selling this year's hay off the field at £2.00 per bale recently!
