Does anybody have an ingenious design for a hay manger/hay bar type thing.

I want to try to adopt the head down feeding regime but my horse mixes all her hay around the stable and in with the bedding if I put it on the floor.

I need something to hold it either in a corner or flat wall. I don't mind either!

Thanks!

Dizz has a haybar, works pretty well (she is reknown for pulling hay around and weeing on it

). LL pulled it off when he used her stable - I think he was reaching for the last bit of hay at the bottom!

Do you have a handyman to knock you up something along the lines of this? The old fashioned ones used to be made of wood.

Now just waiting for 101 reasons to be listed why they shouldn't be made of wood.

whats wrong with a haynet?

Because it's not natural for a horse to reach up to eat, (it is far healthier them reaching down), and because of the risk of injury that an empty haynet poses.

It's an unnatural way of feeding, horses have got injured in their stables getting caught in haynets & that's why the floor is better.
