Hay Overnight???

the plastic garden trellis you buy from any garden centre,

i use paddock pillows in my stables with no problems, and i also use them for feeding hay in the fields in the winter ,keeps my horse busy working at getting the hay,and stops the hay from blowing around, and also the seed from the hay falls into the ground as my horse pushes the pillow around.
my horse is shod , never had any problems
 
If you soak the hay for 12 hours there are no nutrients left in the hay. You are therefore just feeding it so the gut has something to digest and keep it working, which the horse needs. The horses digestive system is designed to recieve food little and often so going without food for ten hours is asking for trouble. If the hay is soaked for 12 hours you can feed a whole bale -There is NO FEED VALUE (nutrients) left!
