Hay prices in Cambs

What are you paying for this summers hay in the Cambridgeshire region? We've been quoted for some but just want to see how the price compares to others!

I have 200 bales of lovely meadow hay coming fro £2.50 a bale and I also have some lovely italian ryegrass, very heavy and packed bales which was about £4.65 a bale last year so will be around that or £5 per bale this year. I am very lucky and ordered mine last year, a lot of friends can't get hold of anything under £6 a bale.

we are paying more this year than last year. we have just ran out of last years stuff on our livery yard and was paying £3.50 a bale but emergency supplies are coming in at £6 a bale! we all expected a price hike this year though. we have other stuff on order we are waiting to be cut but dont know how much that will be yet. we have ordered enough for all winter, but to be honest cheap hay is just not going to happen this year! maybe ill just have to starve myself so my horse can eat this year!!!

I've just been quoted £6 a bale from Roland Woodcraft. Thats first cut hay. He said hopefully price may go down a little if they get a second cut but it's likely he'll be buying it in himself from the Westcountry where theres a good supply.
