I was just wondering for those of us that haven't had much rain in the last few months and very small cuts off fields for hay how much people are paying per bale?

So how much are you paying for a small bale of hay or large round bale of hay and what area are you in?

:-)

£5 for normal small bale (£6 from farmer who's bales are bigger by 25% and great quality)

When I rang one farmer about a large round one I think he said they were £35... or he may have said £40? But he didn't have any more to sell.... So was a bit pointless!

£2.50 a bale. Iv just secured 500 bales to get me through winter. It isn't to bad where I'm to. First cut all been done and fields growing again, don't forget got until sep time to do second cut and I'm sure we will get a bit off decent rain before then. I so wouldn't pay £5 plus a bale that's madness and wouldn't line farmers pockets.

I'm near Pickering in North Yorkshire. My usual supplier charges £3.50 inc delivery but I got a trailer load from someone else in the next village for £3 a bale at the weekend, had to go collect it myself but it saved me about £20 so no complaints :)

I'm in South Hants and was paying £6 for a large small hay ( if that makes sense ).

We have been told our farmer has run out now and any new supply will be more expensive although we don't yet know how much.
