i have a fantastic deal with local farmer, he cuts my big feild, bales it up & stores it in his barn along with his own stuff for his cattle & i have as much as is needed throughout the year (paddock produced 43 bales last year & my 2 tiny natives never get through that much) normally by now he is selling off surplace hay to locals cheap ready for this years cut as th cows go out 1st of april BUT due to the really bad winter we have had i have gone through 7/8 bales a week rather than the 2/3 i normally use due to the lack of visable grass & the cold/wet/windy conditions, he has also used much more than normal to keep the cattles weight & condition on ready for calving & as a result we are down to the last 100 bales in barn EEEK! my two are gonna need hay still & we have none.

So anyone in north cambs/south lincs area know of hay for sale (haylage sends the boy loopy!) am willing to travel & do have trailer for picking it up, cant believe wee are close to running out.

I know people at my yard near Peterborough are struggling to find hay suppliers, even my own supplier is down to 10 big bales left which should just about get me and the other lady at the yard through to new hay time.

However, a couple of people there have just had a delivery from a guy over near Wisbech (Elm way I believe) who advertises in Yellow Pages. They have had the heston type bales about 8 foot by 2.5 feet by about 3 feet. They were expensive at £60 each but the hay looks reasonable quality. Think any one who has got some hay left, is going to be bumping up the prices now.

Hope you manage to find someone to supply you.
