Hay Shortage in Medway, can anyone help

Can any one help with hay suppliers?? :) , I recently started owning a horse again so I have no regular supplier yet, and I dont have any means of collection. hay is around £4.50-5.00 a bale at the moment. I tried 3 suppliers today and all have sold out!! I need a contact number for someone who could deliver as the yard my horse is at has very restricted grazing, so i'm seriously starting to worry now for the winter.
Any one with any contacts locally, I would be greatly appreciative if you could pm me x :D
 
Those small bale prices didn't look too bad.

Could you find a local farmer/someone with a lorry who can go and collect them for you (obviously paid). If other suppliers have run out, chances are you will have to pay higher prices elsewhere..
 
Is Beckley miles away from you? Local paper has this years hay for sale (says good clean hay) for £3.50 per bale. Buyer collects but might be worth arranging something? Phone number is 01797 260551
 
You can hire a van for about £35 per day, if you can get hay at £3.50 per bale from Oldmare's contact then it might be worth doing that and storing a couple of van loads?
I know Speedgate and Glovers have hay, but I think you'd have to collect for Medway. Don't know how much Glovers are charging but Speedgate was pricey last I heard - £5.50 per bale!
My regular farmer said he had a good crop, so I can't quite work this shortage out. (I'm afraid a good crop for him just means he can supply his regulars, he's not taking new customers). Medway is not that far from me, was the crop that bad round there? Are people stockpiling it? Or keeping it hoping the price will go up?
I think the answer may be to find some elsewhere in the county, hire transport and collect, because I have friends down near Ashford and also near Canterbury who seem to be able to find hay easily.
 
Vast amounts of hay here is Maidstone, so no idea why medway farmers have a hay problem! Must have all been reserved by regular customers
