Interested in recommendations for slow hay feeders for my good doer. The best options seem to be haylo (which worked for a fair while then he bashed it about so now the lid doesn’t fit), haygain, eazifeeder. There’s also a hay saver which is more of an on the floor low height one but I’d be worried he’d get his foot stuck in that!

Anyone used the haygain or eazigrazer - how robust and easy to use are they?

It would be for soaked hay overnight in the stable. He’s shod, which is why I’m not sure those low height, top feeders would work. He’s also a brute and kicks it about so it needs to be secured, and robust.

I want an alternative to hay nets as he’s destroying those too!

PS Diet, exercise, grazing etc is separate and something I manage carefully. I’m after hay feeder advice please ?

I used the haygain forage feeder for Dolly. She did damage it but it was still usable and effective in slowing her down. But not by enough. I tried trickle nets and she kicked them to try and release hay quicker and got her foot stuck. So after that she had low cal Timothy horsehage in the haygain and a muzzle when out.

Just to add - Dolly kicked the haygain forage feeder round the stable - if you could secure it to the wall it would be better. Mine was weighted with sand but she still moved it around.

Thx AE! Had a bit more of a look at the 3 types. I might go for the eazigrazer as it seems to have fewer bits that he might get stuck on or damage, seems easy enough to use and can be attached to the stable wall via the handles. They all look pretty much the same really.
