On my usual morning check up before work, I found two shifty looking horses in the corner of the field where we have a hay store. One of them (and I know who it was because the grey horse had a bit of baling twine around his ears) had kicked a hole in the side of the field shelter and pulled out 8 bales of hay and the buggers were stuffing themselves.

I especially *love* the fact that one bale was not enough, he had to pull them all out even though he has no intention of eating them. Bad grey horse will not be getting his dinner tonight. Plus he would do it on the rainiest day this year so they are all soaked through

Sounds a bit like a certain old Clydie (RIP) Cairo. Farra the new clydie would also be equally capable of doing this - she likes her grub.

I supposed you could look the on the positive side that you won't have to feed them for a while and the hay is ready soaked

Yes, total toads. Puts me in mind of that time I left polos in my car with the door open and when I came back they were gone. I ascertained the identity of the culprit by smelling his breath - GREY HORSE...

And one of the reasons why I love riding these type of horses - fall off/lose hold of them/they escape from the field.... and they stop at the nearest snack!

That is so true, never worry if mine gets loose, just look for the nearest piece of grass

PMSL. Thankyou for making me smile. That is so funny. I'm having one of those evenings where the OH is just being a pain in the a**e but that made me giggle.
