Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd like to find someone where I can buy direct (avoid the middleman) but realise that this may not be possible.
Over the winter I have used big bale haylage delivered by a lovely company and these have been stored outside. I'm now not in a position to buy more big bales (they deliver large loads with a 4 wheeled forklift but I don't need enough for that to be economical for them to bring out, and the smaller lorry only has a 3 wheeled forklift which they don't think will cope with the ruts in my rented field) and would rather avoid paying small bale haylage prices so am thinking of small bale hay.
If I can rig up something in my rented field to stop any drips getting on the hay where the storage leaks a bit I could probably take delivery of 40 - 50 bales at a time.
If I have to store them at the livery yard where I have my other two then I would be looking at probably being able to store max of 20 bales at a time.
Wish I was back at my own place with lots of (non-leaky!) storage!
